More than two dozen east Alabama drug suspects—many of them alleged drug dealers are behind bars Wednesday night after a roundup known as Operation Mayhem.Police officers from throughout Etowah County joined the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit on a roundup of drug suspects on the run early Wednesday morning. Sheriff Todd Entrekin said these roundups are necessary and make a big difference.

“If we didn’t do these, just imagine how many more drug dealers would be out on the streets,” Entrekin said.

Officers were sent out with about 125 warrants, including some grand jury indicted suspects.
